|Hello everyone, |
I can't tell you how lovely Portugal has been this spring. First came the mimosa in January. Then in April the country was carpeted in wisteria, azaleas and rhododendrons followed by corn marigolds and broom in May. Best of all, the cherries are ripe. We have been disgracing ourselves by guzzling a kilo of dark red or cream and crimson ones from Resende, which are sold by the side of the road for between 4 and 5 euros a kilo, pretty well every day this week.
As our house receives its finishing touches, we are contemplating the garden. What a task this will be! Yet we have made a start and we are pleased with the little we have done. We trust it bodes well for the rest.
This time I have one long piece and two short ones for you.
The long piece is about those flowers I spoke of above:
The colour purple: Portugal goes wisterical
The first of the short posts is about a brilliant idea which every mother will love:
Airport toilets: another great idea
The second story is about an advertisement we see almost daily and which never fails to amuse us:
Were the Portuguese ahead of the game where diesel is concerned?
I do hope you will like the story about the flowers, appreciate the one about Lisbon airport and laugh with us at the diesel car.
I trust you are enjoying the spring and early summer as much as we are.
